Hamlet
Also known as The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark
Synopsis
A prince is told by his father’s ghost that the new king is a murderer, and then spends the play testing the news, the court, and his own willingness to act. Shakespeare makes delay as dramatic as a duel. Almost every later story about not knowing what to do borrows his pace.
